Calling all businesses - URGE is looking for items to auction in aid of OUTline.

This year’s annual Slave Auction is being held on Saturday, October 10^th at the K Rd bar.

The 2008 auction raised over $2,000 for Prostate Cancer, this year URGE has chosen OUTline, the country's only national glbt phone counseling and non-HIV national outreach and policy facility, to receive the funds from the night.

“Basically we are looking for items to auction away – anything from meal vouchers to holiday breaks. In the past we have had tattoo sessions, pampering weekends and car engine cleaning, so we welcome all help,” said URGE co-owner Alan Granville.

OUTline has been chosen as the organisation has suffered cutbacks due to a drop in financial support.

“We are also looking for “slaves” to present each auction item,” added Granville. “This should be a busy night of fund-raising and we also have DJ Donald Bennett playing on the night.”
