The reigning Mr Australia and New Zealand Leatherman holder Josh Burrows is coming to Auckland on May 7 to launch the Brookes Trust in NZ.
Burrows, from Melbourne, won the title last year, which earned him a place in the International Mister Leather (IML) competition in Chicago in May.
The Brookes Trust was recently set up to promote positive leather lifestyle in the gay community in Australia and New Zealand. It is named after Patrick Brookes, the only Australasian to win the IML title back in 1980.
The aim of the non-for-profit trust is to fundraise and help foster improved relations within the leather communities of the two countries.
Auckland’s URGE Bar will be hosting Burrows on Friday May 7 where a limited number of Embossed Leather Belt Clips will be sold on the night. Also some leather gear will be auctioned off in aid of Body Positive. Also music from DJ Luke.
Later this year a Mr New Zealand Leather competition will be held at URGE with the winner representing Aotearoa in the Australasia competition in Melbourne in October. |
